2002 gründeten sich Eluveitie als reines
Studioprojekt. Welche Karriere der Band noch bevorsteht, ahnt zu
der Zeit niemand. 2012 feiern die Schweizer Folk Metaller ihr
zehnjähriges Jubiläum mit dem Release des Albums THE EARLY YEARS.
Darauf zu hören: Neuaufnahmen der ersten Veröffentlichung VEN und
neu gemastertes Material des Debüt-Albums SPIRIT.
Aus eben dieser Zeit hat Eluveitie-Frontmann Christian "Chrigel"
Glanzmann Fotos ausgegraben, die ihr oben in der Galerie exklusiv zu sehen bekommt.

Eluveitie-Sänger Chrigel erinnert sich an das erste Konzert am
05.04.2012 in Winterthur als Vorband von Skyforger, Menhir und
Trimonium:
"The show took place shortly (weeks) after eluveitie became a
"real" band, instead of a studio project (or in other words: that
show was one of the reasons I turned the studio project into a
band).
The self-released demo "Vên" was out for good 4 months at
that time and was almost sold out, got great reviews and
reactions… which was probably why I received an offer to open
that show with Eluveitie."

Ebenfalls dem Eluveitie-Fotoalbum entnommen: Fotos von der
Bastel-Action für das Cover des ersten Albums SPIRIT. Chrigel
blickt zurück:
"for the front cover of "spirit" i wanted a tumulus in a
typical swiss scenery. originally there have been lots of them
around. not anymore, unfortunately. for two reasons:
- firstly switzerland got covered with cities and fuckin
concrete over the last 150 years. so most of the remaining tumuli
you can still find in switzerland are in a ugly, urban
environment.
- secondly: in the late 19th and the early 20th century the
civil builing industry in switzerland kinda fell prey to madness…
for back then, one thought that the large stone slabs of the
tumuli were pretty useful for building houses and chalets. so,
countless tumuli were torn down and their individual parts were
used for new houses. what pitty and madness!
however - today you can hardly find a sound tumulus (or any
celtic or megalithic stone construction) in a nice, natural
environment in switzerland anymore.
that's why we kinda had to build the tumulus you can see on
the front cover of spirit on our own. so, i built that bloody
thing with my own fuckin hands! :)
the tumulus was built up in Alt St. Johann, near the
Churfirsten mountains in eastern Switzerland. "
