Metallica kommen gemeinsam mit Iron Maiden und Linkin Park zu Rock am Ring/Rock im Park 2014. Doch damit nicht genug: Die Metal-Legende spielt am 04.06.2014 außerdem ein Konzert in der Imtech Arena in Hamburg.
Erstmals in ihrer Karriere wird die Multi-Platin-Gruppe als besondere Verneigung vor ihren Fans ‚Metallica By Request‘ vorstellen, das ultimative interaktive Metallica-Konzerterlebnis.
Tickets für diese Show gehen am Freitag 29.11.2013 um 10:00 Uhr über Eventim in den Vorverkauf. Bei der Metallica-Show in Hamburg handelt es sich um die 2014er Auflage des Sonisphere-Festivals.
Fans, die ihre Tickets für die kommenden Europa-Termine online kaufen, darunter in Hamburg sowie bei Rock am Ring und Rock im Park, werden dazu eingeladen, die Setliste ihrer Show mitzugestalten. Dadurch erhalten sie die Chance, ihre Traum-Songliste der über 30-jährigen Bandgeschichte mit nahezu 140 aufgenommenen Songs zu formen.
Metallicas traditioneller Konzert-Kanon von 18 Songs wird 17 der meistgewählten Songs enthalten und da die Band auch einen Teil des Spaßes beansprucht, wird der 18. Song nach Metallicas Wahl ein brandneuer Titel sein.
Die Fans können den Verlauf der Wahl unter www.metallica.com verfolgen und sehen, für welche Songs sich andere Fans entscheiden, bis dann die Ergebnisse der spezifischen Shows feststehen.
„Einmal mehr brechen wir aus den vier Studiowänden aus, um uns mit der Energie unserer treuen europäischen Fangemeinde im Mai/Juni aufzuladen“, erklärte Lars Ulrich. „Darüber hinaus nimmt mir die Tatsache, dass unsere verrückten Fans die Songauswahl treffen, eine große Last von den Schultern, weil ich normalerweise die Setliste zusammenstelle. Außerdem ist das Ganze ein Riesenspaß.“
Die erste bestätigte Show findet am 4. Juni in Hamburg statt. Gleichzeitig wurden Festivalauftritte bei Rock am Ring und Rock im Park angekündigt. Tickets für Rock am Ring und Rock im Park gehen am 27. November um 9:00 Uhr in den Vorverkauf. Tickets für das Konzert in Hamburg am 29. November um 10:00 Uhr.
