Tag 7 – Day Off

Tag 9 – Wien, A

Day 11 – Ljubljana, SLO

Tag 12 – Day Off

Tag 13 – Mailand, I

Bury Tomorrow tour diary part 2 // english version

Day 6 – Brno, CZ

We turned up to the show in Brno to discover that the promoter doesn’t sell pre sale for his shows, we where all a bit concerned about this to say the least, as there where no kids waiting outside the venue like usual. With half an hour to go until doors there was still no one waiting to go to come in making the whole touring party nervous that this could be the worst show of tour. All of a sudden with five minutes till doors, an enormous queue formed with about, packing the Czech venue and almost completely selling out. The crowd where insane, and despite not being able to speak much English, seemed to know every word. After the show, we headed to our accommodation, which was a floor of a hotel.

As all the bands where staying on the same floor, a party broke out which lasted until the morning, with the entire tour party going hard! The following morning we woke up to a jilted English eviction from the hotel, stating we must leave and were not permitted to stay another night. I guess the other guests didn’t enjoy the party as much as we did.

Day 7 – Day Off

As we were not able to stay in our hotel another night we decided to head to Bratislava a day early and stay with the promoter of he show the following day. He took us to the local bars, which is where we learnt that Bratislava has the cheapest alcohol we have experienced anywhere in the world ( a litre bottle of vodka, is cheaper than a litre bottle of water). We kept it an early night with this in mind (heading home around 1am) knowing that with alcohol this cheap we were bound to be smashing some beers back after the show the next day.

Day 8 –Bratislava, SK

We turned up to the venue and instantly fell in love….We where playing in a Simpsons themed venue!! It was amazing, painted yellow, with dougnuts, characters and even served DUFF BEER!! The show was amazing we could not believe the reaction we received in a country we have never been to before.

After the show the touring party (and pretty much all the fans) went to the bar we where at the night before. We got a massive table with everyone and spent the whole night dancing and drinking with the fans, getting to know them better. We left the bar at 6am when they eventually stopped playing Lamb of God! We want to say a massive thank you to David the promoter and all the fans that came with us for giving us the best night on tour so far.

Day 9 – Vienna, A

We had played Vienna several times before so we knew what to expect crowd wise, The Austrians love to party and get involved so we were stoked for the show. We turned up to Arena and the complex was amazing, with 8 different rooms, including a massive stage that was used for festivals. We where also told our room had been upgraded due to the demand for the show.

As expected the show was INSANE, bodies flying everywhere, massive pits & sing backs so loud where could scarcely Jason sing himself. Austria gave it there all

Day 10 – Budapest, H

It was our first time we had ever been to Hungary, and the first thing we where struck by was how beautiful the city of Budapest was. Again the promoter told us on arrival that due to demand the show had been upgraded to a bigger room.

We could not have expected the show that night, when you go to new places you are always cautious, you expect a couple of fans up at the front singing, but not a lot else, you go with the mentality to win fans not to play to pre existing ones. You definitely don’t expect a sold out venue, with 300 kids going ballistic and climbing on each other to grab the Microphone of Dani trying to be the first to sing back at us. Dan finished the show climbing up the stage rigging   and lumping from the roof onto the crowd.

Day 11 – Ljubljana, SLO

Slovenia was another unknown for us, so when we where told it was sold out as we were loading in we couldn’t believe it. The room was small but packed to the rafters with probably the best crowd of tour… bar Davyd. During the show he had bent down to adjust one of his pedals, whilst doing so his hair caught in the drum fan and tore a chunk of his hair out. Needless to say he wasn’t too impressed.

After the show we headed to where we where staying, which was basically a band squat, seeing 18 people sleeping in a small loft around 3ft high. We decided to make the best of a crazy situation and go out again.

We ended up in a Dancehall club filled mainly with our touring party once again. We had saved up a lot of rider alcohol so the drinks were flowing pretty fast from our personal bar, the van, which was parked outside. We all tried our best to fit in with the dancing with Dani and Goonzy, from Bleed From Within, strolling back to the venue at 6:30am

Day 12 – Day Off

On our Day off we wanted to do something incredible on tour, so we decided to head to Venice as none of us had ever been there. It was an incredible city and blew us all away. We spent the day pretty much being the biggest tourists ever. We also met an Italian One man band… he gave us some ideas about our next album (haha)

Day 13 – Milan, I

With Mehdi being from Italy, and his family still residing just out of Milan, we decided to spend the next few days with him. We woke up in paradise, baked in sun and overlooking the second biggest Lake in Italy it was breathtaking, at much better than waking up in a squat with 17 other dudes!!

We headed to the show, which felt like playing to friends more than a show. It was an odd show but the crowd that where there for us made it worth it.
